冰绒分枝多，叶片生长在茎端和分枝顶端集和成莲座叶盘，容易群生，叶灰绿色，叶缘和叶面叶背都有睫毛状纤毛，非常可爱。
冰绒掌喜温暖、干燥和阳光充足的环境，耐干旱，能够忍耐零下3度低温并且保持盆土干燥，零下3度叶片会微微耷拉下来的，不过没有关系，温度回升就会恢复挺立。稍耐半阴，阴久了叶片变绿也容易徒长拉长。夏天最好不要暴晒，适当遮阳就可以，少水。
